The Lust List - 27th August 2009

I am going to add a regular feature to my blog called the Lust List, its going be a what is says on the tin! All styles, prices, designers; if its on there you know what i want! I thought this would also be very useful leading up to someone's birthday in October? (heh, i joke).
Lace Cut Out Shoulder Dress - Topshop (£35.00) - available in cream/black

I really want to cream version to wear with black tights, to achieve the monochrome look.

Knitted Short Cardigan - Topshop (£25.00)

This fail safe red cardi will add a bright colour to any black or grey winter outfit, perfect for brightening up in those gloomy wintery months.

DUSK Suede Over- Knee Boot - Topshop (£90.00)

These black suede boots are so bang on trend and leave me pining away for really crisp cold weather! Over the knee boots were big on all the catwalks as i have previously mentioned and this pair will be so versatile to wear. With a tea dress, tights and leather jacket or over tucked in skinnies with a knitted jumper. Plus they look very toasty and warm!

Vibrant Ballet Pump - Topshop (£16.00)

These are the comfiest pair of pumps i own and easy to tuck into a clutch to change into when walking home after a long night out in heels!

Cream Embellished Top - River Island (£39.99)

Rose Coat - Topshop (£70.00)

The coat is far too cute with the silk trims! It would be the perfect coat to slip over a expensive dress out for dinner.

This latest shoe collection from Chole is simply to die for!
i adore all these shoes, but sadly the green pair are £3000 a pop and the other have a price on request, major lusting!

New A/W Kate Moss for Topshop

Today was the launch of Topshop's new collection designed by Kate Moss for her new Autumn/Winter Collection. This latest collection will be her 11th line for Topshop, presenting her usual trademark vintage style to create a fusion of up to date pieces that reflect her own wardrobe. The range varies in price from £22 to a staggering £350, including embellished sequined dresses and cardis, tea dresses, jumpers and cute printed scarfs.

Many people see Kate Moss as a true british style icon, emphasising cool Britannia in her vintage, indie looks. She was the Croydon school girl, with the waifish, boyish figure who got spotted down the high street. Moss' Calvin Klien adverts are highly iconic and she has graced over three hundred magazine covers, yet i think her heroine chic looks have defiantly faded.

With the infamous relationship with druggie Pete Doherty and the Cocaine Kate scandal (that lost her many, many advertising campaigns) her life has dramatically changed. Although she seems to be in a stable relationship with Jamie Hince (from the band The Kills) i think her once appealing nature has been ruined by the constant smoking and partying lifestyle. Unlike many, i would not describe her as a fashion influence in my choices at all, partly because we have different style personas and tastes. However, within this collection there are two items that i think are truly beautiful and good buys:

This embellished blue chiffon dress is stunning! The statement, bejeweled collar is so pretty and i like the loose chiffon material, tightened in at with the chiffon waist belt. The colour blue would look great with gold heels and bag and could be teamed with either bare, tan legs or black tights. Seriously, i'm very impressed with this dress and it is certainly a top contender for a birthday dress!

Breaded Collar Swing Dress - Topshop (£120.00)

This military style cardigan is bang on trend, with the navy colour it can be teamed with anything, from dark blue skinny jeans to a stripy tee and leggings.

Military Style Cardigan - Topshop (£45.00)

Although, these two pieces are very eye catching i will not be tempted to buy as of yet. As perviously seen with all her collections they have not dramatically sold out, even most items appear half price within the Topshop sale! so i will bid my time and hopefully be able to score a beautiful bargain!

26 August 2009

Just a quick note..

I NEED this in my life now! What a bloody bargain, high padded shoulders were practically included in every a/w runway collection. This dress flaunts the fact that anyone can afford a great piece, with neat black structure its not too daunting and makes a cute little black dress, with a tan and killer cobalt blue heels? please come back in stock asap..

Black Power Tube Dress - Dorothy Perkins (£16.00)

From sunshine to drizzle.

Ive just arrived in England and boy does it feel nice to have the cold crisp air hit my skin (i'm so going to regret saying that!). After taking my spot miles into the ocean, on a wooden pier in the bliss sunshine for two weeks i am very much refreshed and relaxed (and tan). I am itching to get back to university and starting to make plans for next summer, i plan to intern everywhere that will have me in publishing, pr and fashion. Clearly, these last two weeks have flown by and i have every intention of getting up to date in posting. So now im off to unpack and prey that the nice but evil English weather does not fade my tan!

5 August 2009

Lindsay Lindsay your looking finee!

So while Misha Barton is one hell of a disaster atm, another one of our favorite trash celebs Linsay Lohan is looking fucking fabulous! About time, this girl has an amazing body and hair (im thinking Mean Girls era) and i have been patiently waiting for her to appear back to her stylish healthy looking nature. Shot by Rankin for Elle's UK September issue for long page spread, she is clearly on top form and i cant wait to read the interview see if she dishes any dirt on her famous relationship (with creepy and fucking freaky) Samantha Ronson.

Some one give me Lindsay Lohan hair please?

Pick up the latest copy of Elle if you know what's good for you! The new issue gives away three specially designed note books with cover designs from (my homeboy) Giles Deacon, Viviane Westwood and John Galliano. I plan on picking up all three! Hello, collectors item! plus a cute notebook to write my new blog ideas ;)

Cover Whore

As i browse the latest magazine covers whilst on my lunch break, i have one, overly made up, fake looking face staring back at me. Those horrifically long eyelashes, the trashy pink lipstick and the lashings of eyeliner on Katie Price's face glare back at me in a sultry pose. Each cover promises and screams EXCLUSIVE, the best, most in-depth interview EVER with Jordan; read all about Ibiza, the new men in her life and when Pete did this.. when Pete did that..

Even in Glamour magazine's latest September issue she poses in true Jordan style, semi naked with that seductive pose lying on a bed with pigtails. Yet, Glamour magazine is arguably the UK's most best selling women's monthly magazine which prizes iconic celebrity women who inspire us to be healthier, sexier, to strive for success, to have the latest fashion and beauty trends up to date and overall to be happy within ourselves. Does Katie Price promote this idea? For one she has two identities, two different characters in her life: Jordan and Katie. We can, on some level relate to normal Katie but Jordan is another story. So why did Glamour feature this trashy character who flaunts her assets all over the shop in their magazine? Even Jo Elvin, editor of Glamour had to defend her choice of cover star in the ed letter. 'Why is Katie on our cover? The last time i ran a small feature inside Glamour with Katie Price, i actually received letter of complaints.' Because within each interview and publicity stunt photo, she runs a complete different angle and story to entice us to read this LATEST new bite of information on the daily life of her scandalous, trashy escapades.

Katy Price or Jordan is clearing suffering multi-personal disorder, clearly she cannot sell her self on one level, she's the suffering single mother of a disabled child yet has hooked up and partied with a ken-like model, having the time of her life in Ibiza. However Miss Price is one clever lady, she has the magazine world at her feet and she chooses to promote her many different sides. She can feed them any scrap of useless information for a fair price and add a few perfume sales on top with extra publicity. For that, the glamour girl should be admired.

Fast becoming a successful business woman; she knows what she wants and how far she can sell herself to the press and to you and i. These cheap tactics and fast PR stunts are sometimes cringing to watch, but we both know we are itching to see what really happened in the Jordan and Pete bubble and whether forever will really be forever.

I admire her non- bullshit ways and how she can sell her self in such a unique way that we are gagging for more. And the best thing about Katie Price is that she breaks the celeb boundaries, she divides opinion and there is a certain fascination about this ordinary girl who grew up to boost her best assets to an size F to becoming a figure mother of three young children with a business empire of books, hair accessories, underwear, jewelry, perfume and horse riding equipment. We may all question her ways and her choices but really we buy in to the life of Katie Price, because we are to tempted to see what her next dramatic episode will be..
