Summertime Sadness

The Del Ray - Mulberry (£795.00)

It maybe just a materialistic object to some, but there's no denying it none other than a work of true artistic craftsmanship. One to put on my 'to save for' fund, I think so.

If you could have any Mulberry bag what would you pick? Apart from the Del Ray, I'm certainly swooning over a Lily.

Dress - Topshop (£46.00) / Blazer - Topshop (£40.00) / Clutch - Topshop / Sandals - Acessorize / Model - wishing she was sponsored by Topshop

This weekend I drove on down to a diddy little village in Somerset to watch one of my cousins get married. In true typical bank holiday fashion, the traffic was god awful and if you too were battling along he M4 there's a chance you saw my head half hanging out the window trying not to vomit. Just lovely. Moving on swiftly, the weekend was lovely, beautiful weather, a rambling vicar, lots of Somerset cider, good food, memories, more cider, awful barn-dancing (on my part) and plenty of rather handsome ushers. Who doesn't love a good wedding eh?

Quilted Faux Fur Plether Jacket - Topshop (£58.00)

I have never owned a leather jacket, far too prim and proper for that. I'm a dedicated blazer/trench wearer, but add a little faux fur and i'll sign on the dotted line. I adore the panelled shoulders and the fact its slightly cropped. Looking forward to pairing with super girly evening dresses to give it some edge. I'm late to the party, but i'm sure as hell ready to catch up - hurry up A/W.

How do you style your leather jacket? As you may have noticed the design of this blog has had a little spruce, I hope you don't mind. City Girl's Fashion Box deserved a little tlc after three years sprouting beauty and fashion nonsense.

Cherry Sundress - Topshop (last summer)

Yesterday was undoubtedly the hottest day of the year and in true British celebration I whipped out my most prettiest, girliest sundress known to man; choosing to spend the afternoon mooching around various beauty halls, soaking up a little sun in Hyde Park with a few girlfriends and heading out to Fatt Burger for dinner of which I highly recommend. Finishing off the perfect Saturday night with a rather delicious Pink Berry - the amazing American frozen yogurt sold in Selfridges - and a good old giggle.
Untitled
A few other things I have to share, I picked up mini size version of the infamous Origins 'Drink Up Intensive' to slather on whilst travelling abroad, to hydrate and keep my skin all healthy and what-not whilst high in the sky. I also dashed into Armani in Selfridges to trial their Luminous Silk foundation for a wedding next weekend, the sales assistant was beyond lovely and gave me two rather generous samples of different shades. I also fell heavily in love with Dior Amber Diamond highlight and swatched Chanel's Emberville eyeshadow, one for the birthday list and one for a duty free raid yes?

How are you enjoying the weather?

Wannabe

When it comes to body moisturisers I'm a tough nut to crack, I want good, fast results but in true lazy girl fashion. Since making the beauty-resolution at the beginning of the year to moisturise after a shower every night, I have stuck to it religiously and reaping the rewards of softer skin. Here's hoping my eighty year old self will be impressed with my younger self, and I won't resemble a prune too much. Enter Jergen's new re-designed range..
I was lucky enough to be invited to sample out the entire new range of Jergen's body moisturisers, and I can safely say after two (and a bit) months, I can finally give you the low-down. Having heard rave reviews from across the pond, of whom swear by Jergen's Natural Glow tanner (that typically isn't available here.. just yet), I was certainly intrigued to try. The first thing that immediately caught my eye and garnered my interest was the pump bottle, a simple design that we see everyday passing the shelves in Boots, but on body moisturisers.. not so much. But why the fascination? It is the ultimate lazy girls way to moisturising, simply squirt a pump and your good to go. No dealing with a slippery wet bottle and trying to bang out product from a half used bottle, while you literally freezing your behind off wanting desperately to jump into your jammies..
The pump bottle is only available for the Firming and Ultra Healing moisturisers only, which is a shame but I've really fallen for the Firming moisturiser. Sucked in entirely by the design, does the product live up to its expectations? I really can't believe any type of moisturiser will 'firm' your body unfortunately, but it if it improves the 'appearance' then I'll happily give it a whirl (a marketing dream eh?). Moving on the actual formulation, unlike the previous Garnier moisturiser I was using, all the Jergen products perform to a very high level indeed. I want to go to bed moisturised, wake up with my skin feeling soft all day. I want the product to sink in quickly, without feeling heavy on the skin - but still hydrating to the max. I want a light fragrance, nothing nausea inducing (hello Garnier). Does Jergen's tick all these boxes? Yes. For a brand I admittedly never paid any attention to, I'm hooked. Another key product in the range is the Original Beauty Lotion that is sickly sweetly scented with cherry and almonds. I order you all to sniff this product next time you are passing by in Boots and I dare you not to to fall in love with the scent. I scarcely use this dreamy cherry scented moisturiser in fear I may actually lick ones self in public!

Have you ever used Jergens? Am I mad for falling in love with a pump? And more importantly - is Jergen's natural glow coming to the UK... I'm afraid if I told you I would have to kill you.

Pearl Tea Dress - Topshop (reduced from £46 to £22.50)

If I was ever to be made in dress form, this beautiful cream tea dress with pearl details it would be. Having spied this dress for months on the Topshop website with no occasion or worthy excuse to buy it, I was delighted to nab it in the sale for a bargainous price. Now, let's find an occasion to wear this piece? Fashion's Night Out perhaps?

I finish my PR freelancing stint this week, so i'm all yours again x

We are going to Ibiza!

Ibiza is one of my favourite holiday destinations, I have visited a good five or six times with my family over the years - and I cannot wait to visit again this time with a group of girlfriends! I was actually planning on staying there this summer in a very cool apartment in September, but the weather isn't as spot on as Lanzarote, but next year for sure! I adore the vibe of Ibiza, its so much more that party this party that. Downtown Old Ibiza has some amazing culture and scenery to explore, not forgetting the impressive San Antonio beaches! Of course, you would be a fool not to soak up the night-life with the world famous Space, Pacha and Eden to name a few.
Michelle at Daisybutter set a fabulous task to create five outfits for five different occasions if you were to jet off to Ibiza for a long weekend, oh - if only! I've picked my top outfits, with all items handpicked from the New Look site.. enjoy!
Hoody (£14.99) / Scarf (£7.99) / Dress (£22.99) / Necklace (£9.99) / Bag (£17.99) / Sandals (£7.00)

Travelling in Style!

Planning a travel outfit is always a must for when I fly abroad, I need to be a) comfy b) stylish c) warm. I  forever find the aeroplanes to be absolutely freezing so layers are a must. I picked this beautiful floral red maxi-dress as the base to my outfit, easy to wear and perfect for the hot weather when touching down! Plus you could always add a sneaky pair of leggings under for extra warmth and comfort. I always fly with a scarf or pashmina to wrap up warm and to even use as a makeshift pillow for the plane or sun-bed, they are perfect for using as impromptu sarong around the pool! Hoodies don't normally suit my style, but for this occasion this simple navy one is perfect - I can even vouch for how soft it is as I already own it! Throw on some embellished sandals and a statement necklace for added stylish touch, you can go straight to the pool bar on arrival.
Bikini (£9.99) / Dress (£16.99) / Belt (£2.99) / Necklace (£14.99) / Lipgloss (£1.99) / Bag (£9.00)
/ Sandals (£15.99)

Poolside Glamour

Staying in an Ibizan hotel your setting out to impress, starting with hot pink fuchsia bikini with detachable straps, it allows you to tan beautifully on your shoulders (without any pesky strap marks) and the tie-up bottoms slide over any lumps and bumps. To cover up for lunch or afternoon cocktails, throw on this beige maxi for the ultimate laid back luxe glamour. For a finishing touch the pink spiked statement necklace is sure to add the perfect edge. With a slick of Giles lip balm, colour blocking sandals and pool bag, your good to go.
Hat (£2.00) / Bikini (£30.00) / T-shirt (£5.99) / Nail Varnish (£2.99) / Steve Madden Sandals (£35.00) / Bag (£16.99) / Shorts (£9.00)

Beaching Around

Keeping it simple for a day of fun of relaxing and chilling at the beach, this outfit is laid-back cool. The embellished bikini is a fail-safe-shape with that extra pop of pink, to match your fuchsia Giles nail varnish. Keeping cool and protected in a straw hat, the on-trend floral shorts and loose white tee-shirt will look effortlessly cool.

Sunglasses (£10.00) / Dip Hem Skirt (£22.99) / Cropped Blouse (£6.00) / Aqua Heels (£24.99) / Necklace (£9.99) / Eyeshadow Quad (£3.99) / Clutch (£9.99)

Summer Supper

Glamming up for a evening dinner, its time to amp up the tan by embracing colour blocking hues of coral and cobalt blue. This seasons dip hem skirt paired with the brodie white cropped blouse will be stylish but loose, notching it up a level with a wash of aqua eyeshadow and cork heels, it will clash perfectly with the golden statement necklace and coral clutch.

Necklace (£14.99) / Highlighter (£2.99) / Eyeliner (£2.99) / Blouse (£19.99) / Clutch (£24.99) / Sequin Shorts (£17.99) / Eyelashes (£4.99) / Shoes (£42.00)

Going for Gold

Its time to explore the infamous Ibizan nightlight, heading over to the world famous Pacha to see David Guetta headlining, it's time to get in full on glamour mode. Whipping out your pins in these show-stopping sequin gold hot pants - if you cant on holiday, when can you? -  a lose silk cream blouse, statement necklace and chunky wooden tan heels. Let the sequins speak for themselves, with simple accessories. Grunge up your look, with messy gold flick of eyeliner and Katy Perry lashes, highlighting your glow with the Giles highlighter.

Vest (£3.99) / Knickers (from £2.99) / Nude Knickers (£5.99) / Nude Bras (£11.99) / PJs (£9.99) / Socks (£4.99) / Coin Purse (£4.99) / Moroccan Oil Shampoo (£5.99) / Foot Gel Cushions (£3.50) / Cosmetic Bag (£7.99)

Essentials

Here are a few added travel essentials I for one always seem to forget to pack (makes mental note here!). First up are vests, simple and plain but perfect for holidays. You can mix and match them with a variety of outfits, easy to wear and to wash while away. Its an unwritten rule that we need fresh new knickers for holiday, but lets not forget to pack a nude pair for see-through dresses! Running on with the nude theme, both a plain white and nude bra is a must-have, especially those with the state of the art multi-way straps, confusing but needed. As well as cotton socks for the freezing plane and smoothing your tootsies in foot cream every night to ensure perfectly pampered pedicures. Slip your valuables such as phone and keys in a cosmetic bag, within your main handbag so they are protected and can be easily found around the pool. I always downsize my purse to a much smaller bag friendly size, to only take out whats needed - so much more travel friendly!

I throughly enjoyed compiling this post, I do love sussing out outfits and New Look does come up trumps in terms of style and price.. because lets face it the weather over here is pants, why spend a fortune! What do you think of my looks, what one is your favourite? And most importantly who wants to come Ibiza with me? Yes, yes, yes?

Daughters

Say hello to my newest absolute guilty pleasure: my brand spankin' new pink retro Nike Dunks - hand on heart, I love them. Not quite in tune with my usual style, but there's just something about this retro style I'm frankly obsessed with. Granted I haven't got the fashion guts to wear these out, but when it comes to my new fitness regime in a bid for the perf holiday body, I'm tearing up my village in these pink badboys. My fourteen year old self is still distraught that my baby blue dunks got thrown out, but I spotted in these in a well-known but shan't be mentioned sport shop (i'm a fashion blogger people). I threw shit to the wind and snapped them up. Should you visit my ends any time soon, look out for the very glowing (read sweaty) runner (jogger) repping these bright pink dunks to this tune - you've been warned.. Any excuse or motivation to get fit.

There is method in my madness people: dunks + Fake Tan = Giselle right?

Next up on my list are the Liberty London Nike collab, if you fancy following in my footsteps then be sure to check out the Nike shop on Oxford Street (very impressive) and don't forget if your tootsies come in under size 5/5.5 you can bust into the Jnr range, Jnr prices!

What do you think? Be kind.

Hold on to your knickers girls!

I absolutely adore Victoria Beckham, she is my ultimate girl crush. If i could meet anyone famous it would be her hands down. Why? Because she's funny as hell, doesn't take her self seriously and lets face it - she has it all. I was definitely Posh Spice growing up and still to this day I follow Vicky and her career fiercely. This month she has edited the September issue of US Glamour, the most prestigious fashion issue in the magazine calendar. I for one will be hotfooting it to Selfridges magazine hall to pick up a copy!

Do you love Victoria?
