Beauty Talk: Pedicures at Cheeky Parlour

It's official - the holiday countdown has begun. And what better way to wind down and ignore the perils of packing than an indulgence pre-holiday pamper? Gathering my best gal pal Lily, we made a beeline for the Cheeky Parlour in Holborn to give their Toe Shine Pedi a whirl.

Having been on my radar for quite some time - and yet never having an excuse to pop on by - Cheeky is the sister salon of the infamous Cowshed. Serving up a beauty menu of express beauty treatments (with a fully stocked bar) at seriously affordable prices, this one-stop-beauty-shop is certainly one to add to your little black book.

Priced at a snappy £26, it included the full works - file and shape, cuticle work, dead skin blitzing, exfoliation, moisturising and a lick of paint of your choosing. Settled in their sleek wooden thrones with my juicy coral varnish at the ready, my beautician quite simply worked her magic and left me with freshly painted glossy toes and feeling light as a feather.

Quite the indulgent treat, this beauty fix is an incredible offer for the super affordable rate. I honestly couldn't rate the nail girls more highly, their attention to detail from the moment they preened my god awful feet to the snazzy foot dryers next to a stack of the latest glossies - not a single trick has been missed, in fact I predict a pedi addiction on the horizon.

With a salon in both Shoreditch and Holborn, prices start from £14 for a file and paint - whaddya waiting for?

Wishlist: Changing Seasons

And within a blink of flash, August has gone and done a runner. With a mighty miserable departure at that, this past month has been actually been whirlwind of new job excitement (spoiler alert: it's the dream) and pretending I can totally dress for the unpredictable weather. Basically alternating between a uniform of my linen tee's, jumpers and Gap skinnies - basically boring.

Armed and ready with an empty suitcase to hit up the big apple next week - watch out J.Crew, I'm coming for you - I whipped up a changing seasons wish-list of wardrobe additions this side of the pond. Tan, navy and cream seem to be the order of the day, with a prints, stripes and gingham capturing my full attention. LET'S DO THIS!

Beauty Talk: Blushing for summer

Despite the fact I was only blessed with only two cheeks, my blusher collection may fool you into thinking otherwise. Hands in the air with white flag waving, my name is Sarah and I have a passion for blushers - that perfectly peachy oh so ripe baby pink kind. Delving into my collection (all bladdy 36 of them) here are the cream of the crop that's taking over my summer make-up bag:

Becca Watermelon Beach Tint

A super dinky sample picked up from one of my many Sephora dashes last year, this is the baby that just keeps on giving. Blending seamlessly, this light wash of deep pink hue is long lasting winning formula for summer days. Softly does it, it's fool proof to apply and doubles up as the perfect lip tint.

Laura Mercier Lotus Pink

Whatever the look, any occasion - Lotus Pink is the blush I instinctively reach for. Dubbed as a second skin, this buttery soft powder strikes the perfect balance between peach and pink. The must-have pick me up that instantly brightens and perks your complexion on even the dullest of days.

Nars Deep Throat

Quite simply, the blusher that should every girl should own. Let me enable you.

Bobbi Brown Calypso Coral

Alright - this beauty editor staple has featured on every glossy page since the beginning of time. But it has good reason to be so. It's that pop of coral that certifies that summer has finally arrived. Pairs perfectly with a bronzed glow and slick of lip balm.

Josie Moran Poppy Paradise

As sheer as they come, Poppy Paradise may look daunting but it's far from it. It packs a poppy hued punch without being too overwhelming, for those lazy days when you want a hint of colour and that fresh flush on the apples of your cheeks.

Tarte Tipsy

Perhaps one of the most wearable coral blushers for any skin tone, the effortless application and long lasting formula make it one of Tarte's most coveted shades. Don't let the bright pan shade fool you into thinking it's too bright, it's serves up the just the right pop of peachy goodness.

Nars Gina

For a blush I snapped up on a whim, it has soon become a firm favourite in my stash. This refreshing spin on coral, Gina is as orange as they come. With a terracotta undertone, it's adds a certain warmth to complexion without looking muddy. Honestly, try it.

Tell me, what's your must have summer blush? I'll try and promise not to buy it.
