I usually don&#39;t use social media much when I&#39;m at my happiest. Same when I visit my family- I can go a whole weekend at my mum and dad&#39;s with not a single photo taken. While I am sometimes in awe of friends who have managed to make a career out of blogging, I&#39;m really glad that I&#39;m not tied to the blog. I LOVE blogging but it&#39;s nice to know that if I decided to take a few weeks, hell even a month off the old blog then it won&#39;t affect me financially at all. I know what you mean about putting life into perspective. I know all too well what it&#39;s like to have a very poorly grandparent in hospital. I liked having the blog to put my thoughts out there when my grandad passed recently, and it reminded me how much I like the journal aspect of blogging.
